We are Live!

Welcome to the website! We couldn't be happier to see the website alive and kicking! It's a big milestone, since Illuminaire started out just as a project in my kitchen a little over a year ago. The mission was to simply refill some empty candle jars because they were so pretty and I didn't want to throw them away.

Well since then, it has come a long way. After I made those first candles in my secondhand jars, my curiosity about candles had been piqued. I have always loved candles, but never really knew much about them. The research was fascinating! I read about various wax types, fragrance oils, wick and container types, the science of how a candle burns, and I knew I had to make more! After many experiments, and losing count of how many candles had been tested and burned, it came to a point where I had made a LOT of candles, so I enlisted the help of some friends and family to try out some of my prototypes, and from there interest started to spread.....and well, now we are here!

We hope to keep the blog informative and fun. The world of candlemaking is huge and fascinating, with a long history. We are open to suggestions of any topics our readers would like to learn more about!
